July 3rd 2024: Celebration Preparations

0630: coffee, hard boiled eggs & a roll; deck scrub-down; canopy up; garrison flag w/ASA burgee up; bike ride to the Richardson Maritime Museum‘s Ruark Boatworks; a display balcony has been built in the shop! Great chat with Ken G in the shop about the photo of the crew at the bow of upside down JD and those who have passed over the bar in the 14 years since JD left under her own power in 2010; talked with Mr. Jim’s son-in-law, Jim Brighton, about JD: he didn’t work on or take possession of JD from Emil in 2000, nor did he recall if brother in law Tom did; he suggests that RMM should link to JD web site;

about 1600: Dinner is a half bushel of steamed crabs from J. M. Clayton; story is that Clayton’s dockside crew acknowledged the workboat (yacht) JOLLY DOLPHIN on Labor Day 2007 as we arrived in Cambridge Creek with a wsup nod
